Let’s Restore Fiscal Sanity to Washington

Politicians make plenty of promises, but few have the guts to cut federal spending, eliminate wasteful programs, or reduce our national debt. Our national credit card is maxed out. Our children and grandchildren are being saddled with debt they’ll never be able to repay, and the problem is only getting worse.

Until we elect a leader to Congress who will help stop reckless spending, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) predicts our national debt will equal our total GDP by 2025.

This is unacceptable, and politicians from both parties are to blame. We must address the $20 trillion in debt our nation owes or else we will bankrupt the next generation and jeopardize the viability of programs critical to Monroe County.

It’s time that politicians in Washington broke their habit of passing massive omnibus spending bills in the dead-of-night and started working across the aisle to help pass a clean, balanced budget that funds critical programs and protects future generations. In Congress I will not just preach fiscal responsibility, I will practice it.
